About one kilometer from the port of Marina della Lobra, in Campania, there is an islet called Scoglio del Vervece.
Every year, in September, a Mass is celebrated which is attended by hundreds of boats.
During the ceremony, divers place wreaths of flowers on the statue of the Madonna (the Madonnina del Vervece), located about 11 meters deep, in memory of all those who disappeared at sea.
The extreme beauty of this dive site is characterized by the presence of a vast flora with bright colors that rarely hosts some rare marine species, such as the “Gerardia Savaglia”, a hexacoral belonging to the Parazoanthidae family.
A real explosion of colors, which seems to be protected by a barracuda bank, now settled around this magnificent rock.
