Scuba Diving for the Disabled
With the project Diving For All, we intend to break down any barrier that may hinder access to diving (and sports in general) to the disabled, who find themselves incredibly skilled in the water. With this project, we show that no one is to be left behind, highlighting the strengths that a disabled person can rediscover underwater and the benefits that this sport can guarantee both physically and mentally. The impression of walking in space, the sensation of diving suggest a different physicality, that, let's hope, may open the eyes of those who still see barriers, where we see freedom.
When diving becomes
OUR SCUBA DIVING
Overcoming diversity, eliminate physical and mental barriers, increase self-esteem and improve the psycho-physical and social well-being of people with disabilities through underwater sport. This is the purpose of the project Diving For All, through which ATIS Diving Club is committed to spreading underwater sport to all people with disabilities.
Introduction to the project
DIVING FOR ALL
With the project Diving For All, ATIS Diving Club intends to extend to everyone the opportunity to enjoy the underwater wonders, also to people with motor disabilities, sensory or relational. It is well known, indeed, that diving-related activities are an invaluable source of benefits both physically and mentally, allowing in particular the disabled to live an experience as real protagonists and not as subjects passively transported underwater.
A specially trained companion, qualified and specialized in the individual needs of each diver and submarine microgravity are the main ingredients for a fun recipe in the name of rediscovering oneself, which helps not only the body but especially the mind.
