ADVANCED OPEN WATER DIVER: diver of another level

In October we begin to perceive that the year is approaching its end e ATIS Diving Club in this 2021 has already released almost 70 patents… but it's not over yet!

In the summer season, or in any case shortly before reaching its peak, the formations become more intense for those who approach diving through the Open Water Diver course, first level patent which by i 18 meters of depth represents the first step of a diver towards the exploration of the world under water.

At this point the overwhelming majority of new divers feel what we could define as a real "siren song", or that irresistible desire to see more and that irrepressible desire to discover again.

I spent the warm months diving, both starting from ATIS Diving Center in Lido Campanello discovering Lake Garda, than around the beautiful Italian seas (and for the lucky ones also from abroad), by almost all our divers recently made official the request arrives on time ATIS Diving Club to continue training and move on to the next level starting the training to become an Advanced Open Water Diver.

What blows and swells the sails of this desire is precisely the air of the explorer.

Through the supplementary theoretical and practical training offered by ATIS Diving Club,Advanced Open Water Diver will be able to reach 30 meters deep and have the chance, Furthermore, to carry out night dives.

That's not all, then we proceed by points:

Extending the depth of descent, obviously, not only increases the quantity of flora and fauna that can be seen diving, but it also increases the variety that it is possible to meet.

Equally obvious is the fact that, with an extended range for underwater descent, you can count an even greater number of wrecks and finds among those that it becomes possible to go and explore.

And from a visual point of view, there is still more, because you can literally see more!

In fact, going down further increases the possibility of crossing the thermocline, ovvero quello strato di acqua al di sotto della superficie (whose thickness varies according to different conditions) in which a clear water temperature gradient occurs, which suddenly decreases by a few degrees, making visibility in the water significantly better.

The night diving experience is truly impressive, so long as, albeit taking place in conditions of "darkness", it is the moment when the water is calmer and life is at its most, with all its bright colors, it is unleashed.

The idea of the light conditions on the surface must not affect the perception of this type of activity in an "abysmal" way, because in fact a diver during a night dive, duly accompanied not only by the appropriate torches, but from the correct preparation in the training phase, is perhaps more likely to see more things and fish than a day trip.

We arrive at a focal point of the possibilities offered by the formation of ATIS Diving Club for the Advanced Open Water Diver certification: the skills that the diver acquires with this course.

First of all, l’orientation.

A key part of training is forging the ability to orient oneself as well as developing a sense of orientation.

Everything starts from the teaching of correct use of the compass and from training to find reference points.

Low visibility? New dive spot? They will never be a problem for the diver who achieves the Advanced qualification.

You then learn several other skills, such as the instrumentation management, as it will be required to know how to look at and correctly interpret the information given by the dive computer and the compass while holding the torch. And speaking of the latter, you will know how to communicate through i signs that will be made using the flashlight during night dives.

More attention will be paid totrim, they will improve knowledge for maintaining safety and increase the awareness in the water also learning to calculate and manage their consumption d’aria.

Surely an Advanced Open Water Diver is a diver of another level: trained more thoroughly and technically he is a more "independent" diver (PLEASE NOTE: this does not mean that he does not need a buddy to dive, but it does mean that he is prepared and knows how to behave in the water) and more ready to fully enjoy all the facets that the underwater world has attracted him to explore.

But if the Open diver hears the “siren song” that pushes him towards the Advanced qualification, the Advanced diver will then hear no music?

Again, for most of them there will be no moment of silence, it will only change song: on the notes of the same desire for exploration, this time the song will be titled "Dry suit”!
